In November 2017, I was invited to participate in an artist’s residency titled Proyecto en Sitio in Morelia, Mexico. The mission of this international Land Art-themed project was to draw attention to art and the environment in urban Morelia and the surrounding regional agricultural communities. I was among ten international artists summoned to contribute one Environmental artwork to the project. I completed three major works addressing regional issues surrounding watershed erosion, human development, and annual drought. The artists in residence also collaborated with students from the local public schools and two major universities located in the city of Morelia.
